  • ✈ Runway: Text to Video

Coca-Cola has launched a new website that allows users to create designs around some of its most iconic images using AI tools, including OpenAI’s DALL-E and GPT systems.

Participants can select Coca-Cola imagery and provide instructions for artwork and copy ideas, which the AI systems will generate. Users can then tweak the images and text with onsite editing tools and enter their work into a contest.

Top images will be chosen for display on Coca-Cola’s billboards in Times Square and Piccadilly Circus, and the top 30 AI artists will be invited to the Real Magic Creative Academy in Atlanta. Coca-Cola is also experimenting with AI tools internally for exploring innovative new ideas and designing data-driven marketing material.

42 Reasons GPT Is Not Random

ChatGPT's quirky numerical preferences can be traced back to its training data, which consists of vast amounts of human-generated text from the internet. When it comes to generating random numbers, ChatGPT isn't truly "generating" randomness but predicting what it thinks humans might consider random based on its training.

This reliance on human text leads to the overrepresentation of meme-laden numbers like 42, which holds cultural significance as "the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything" according to Douglas Adams' "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy." Universally favored digits like 7 also appear more often, as the AI unconsciously absorbs our cultural biases and predilections. Consequently, ChatGPT's idea of randomness becomes a reflection of human quirks rather than a true random number generator.

While this digital wordsmith dazzles with eloquence, its inability to perform basic tasks without being influenced by human biases raises important questions about its practical applications. For now, ChatGPT's math skills offer more of a humorous insight into our collective online culture than a reliable computational tool.

Runway Gen-2

AI startup Runway is making waves with its latest announcement of the Gen-2 video generation model. Though the dream of typing a description and creating a video in any style remains a work in progress, Gen-2 brings us one step closer.

Runway's Gen-1 model transformed existing footage with AI-generated overlays, while Gen-2 focuses on generating videos from scratch, albeit short and less polished ones. With giants like Meta and Google dabbling in text-to-video research, Runway's 45-person team is demonstrating that startups can also compete in the generative AI arena. Hold onto your hats, folks—the text-to-video revolution is coming!
